ZeroEST, Estonia’s Zero Emission Air Mobility Ecosystem, based in the City of Tartu in Estonia, is an enabler for new technologies and smart city solutions with a focus on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) development. It emerges as a dynamic and innovative real-world experiment environment, a collaborative space where diverse stakeholders converge to co-create, test, and implement solutions for urban challenges, particularly in the realm of aerial automation.

The mission of ZeroEST is to foster the development and deployment of cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and services. By providing a collaborative ecosystem for research, testing, and validation, we aim to drive technological innovation, support regulatory advancements, and enhance the integration of aerial services into urban and rural environments, ultimately improving the quality of life and economic prosperity.

VISION

Our vision is to co-develop ZeroEST into a global leader in innovative aerial services. We aspire to create a dynamic hub where research, technology, regulation, and community engagement converge to enable seamless and sustainable urban air mobility. By 2030, Tartu will be a benchmark city for UAS integration, known for its pioneering solutions, robust infrastructure, and collaborative spirit, setting standards for smart cities worldwide.

Timeline

A roadmap is designed to prepare and monitor joint activities of key stakeholders. This will be supported by key activities including joint marketing and fundraising activities (both local funding as well as bids to EU level international programs), business incubation and acceleration services, community engagement and other supporting activities, ensuring a comprehensive and adaptive approach to development.
